help please!

Okay – I need help identifying a song/music video. This is what I remember: it is sung by a girl or girl group. It’s 80s-ish. It takes place in a castle where a lady is running around singing. She may or may not have oddly glowing green eyes? I feel like there’s big hair and white lace corset dresses. There may be a monster or a vampire involved. There may be motorcycles. There’s a big fight at the end, and I think someone falls out of a window and lands on stone steps far below. It’s a power-ballad, sad I think. It would make a really, really excellent karaoke song.

Also, it is not this:

Or this (no embedding, sorry; you’ll have to click through for your Meatloaf today),

Or this, though of course it should be, and thank you, MBG:

So – wtf is it? Does anybody know? I may be getting the white dresses/ motorcycles stuff mixed up with some of these other videos – possibly it’s not even a girl singing, and I only think that because the girl is the star of the video – but, arg, driving me nuts. Help pls!

that was my guess too. the literal video version of it is hysterically spectacular. and it does make a FANTASTIC karaoke song, just don’t ask ryan to do the “turn around bright eyes” part with you…

Now that I have seen the LVV, my life is complete. I’m a huge fan of the original (with its already too-literal bright eyes), so I don’t know how I managed not to see this sooner, but thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Excuse me now, I have to go watch it 38 more times.

OH MAN how could I have forgotten? It was the centerpiece of our D.A.R.E. assembly/performance thing in sixth grade. Probably because that is my primary association, not the video? I thought it was really weird that we did that in sixth grade. It was kind of an interpretive dance thing about the perils of drug addiction. Anyone have any idea what I’m talking about right now?

    None! But I love it!

MGB: Actually, the one church camp I ever went to did a VERY DRAMATIC rendition of this song as well, with the whole “every now and then I fall apart” being about forgetting about jesus? or something? and satan was also somehow involved. IT WAS HILARIOUS. Er. And also very Serious and Religious. (and hilaaaaarious)

I imagine your DARE performance was similarly fantastic.
